Winds cause havoc in Sattari

VALPOI: For the last four days cyclonic winds in various parts of Sattari taluka have caused damages and losses to the tune of Rs 10 lakh.

Most of the damages were due to trees falling on houses and causing extensive damage to the roofs besides destroying household articles like television , refrigerators, furniture, etc. 

Four houses belonging to Udaysing Rane, Jaysingrao Desai, Vaibhave Rane from Advoi and Pundalik Gaonkar from Bhuipal-Sattari suffered heavy damages. 

Valpoi fire services received 54 calls over the past four days and all were attended to.  

Keri-Chorla road was the worst hit due to trees falling on the road. There were 13 locations where trees had fallen across the road.
