PANJIM: UNHabitat and the Coca-Cola Company announced expansion of their partnership on water sustainability to 10 countries at the 6th World Urban Forum. The partnership will continue to focus on Asia and Africa and will impact over a million people and will build on the work done earlier by both the partners. The Coca-Cola Foundation announced a contribution of US dollar 750,000 towards developing water and sanitation projects in 5 countries. With the announcement of this investment, the total investment by the Coca-Cola Company and UNHabitat
will exceed US dollar 4 million over the last 6 years.
SunEdison awarded best solar power producer in India
PANJIM: Global solar energy provider SunEdison, a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials, was awarded ‘Best Solar Power Producer in India’ at the Regulators and Policymakers Retreat (RPR) 2012, organised by Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI).
SunEdison has become a solar power leader in India with over 50 MW of interconnected solar electricity in India today. The company’s projects range from small rooftop installations to South Asia’s largest solar field in Gujarat.
Along with utility scale projects, SunEdison has implemented innovative initiatives such as the Narmada Canal solar project, considered to be an engineering and design marvel in solar industry globally, as well as the recently launched Eradication of Darkness program which is providing the village of Meerwada 24x7 electricity and will bring solar-powered energy to an additional 29 rural villages that have never had reliable electricity.

‘Happy ending’ home loans from Axis Bank
PANJIM: Axis Bank announced the launch of ‘Happy ending home loan’, a unique home loan product, with a built-in EMI waiver scheme. As long as customer pays his EMIs on time, the product would waive the last 12 EMIs automatically.
The product would be offered at the same rates as a regular loan, and would be applicable to new customers (resident Indians) under floating rate option.
The EMI waiver would be offered to all loans with an initial tenure of 20 years or more that cross their 15th year with Axis Bank. Any customer who pays EMIs on time would be automatically eligible for the benefit. As with the standard Axis Bank home loan, Happy Ending home loans would come with zero prepayment penalty.
Casino Royale to host World Rummy Tournament finals
PANJIM: The finale of the World Rummy Tournament (WRT), the first ever 13 card rummy national tournament being organized in India, will be hosted by Casino Royale, Goa. Started in March 2012 with satellite tournaments in various cities across the country, WRT is nearing its destination – Goa, for its finals to be held on September 29 and 30, 2012. The winners will be entitled to a total cash prize of Rs 1 crore.
