PANJIM: Looking to ride on growth markets, India and China, A O Smith is strengthening its commitment to the market.
A O Smith, a global water heater manufacturer, has 19 manufacturing plants worldwide and
is planning to expand its existing India plant by setting up another 150,000 square feet at an investment of US dollar 20 million, in addition to its existing 76,000 square feet across 20 acres of land in Bangalore. The expansion will increase the plant’s capacity from 4,00,000 units to 12,00,000 units per annum.
In addition, A O Smith has also announced the introduction of 5 new water heaters, specially designed for the India market. Each is equipped with unique features such as advanced technology, energy efficiency, wireless remote control, maximum protection against hard water and more.
Tamal Chaudhuri, MD, A O Smith India Water Heating Private Limited said, “The need for adoption of green technology is growing. A O Smith has developed an advanced technology in residential water heaters - Air2Heat which is highly energy efficient and environmental friendly which consumes only 40% of the electricity as compared to other traditional water heaters”.
With all these initiatives, A O Smith hopes to increase its market share by 18 per cent in the next two years from the current 11 per cent.

Mog, cake studio, opens at Margao
PANJIM: Mog, cake studio, providing quality savoury and confectionery items was launched at Comba, Margao. Located at Colaco Residency, Off Abade Faria Road, Mog has been opened by Chef Brainard Colaco and Mimi Colaco.
Commenting on the launch Chef Brainard Colaco states that “We are excited about the launch of Mog in Goa and aspire to be a destination for all your sweet cravings in Goa.”
Mog has a wide range of offerings of freshly-baked savouries at any given time of the day (puffs, croissants, quiches, pies) and most importantly an affordable confectionery line, a product line keeping in mind healthy, sugarfree, vegan products. It will offer cakes, gourmet ancillary food products (bagel crisps, bread sticks, cookies, muffins, lavache, crostini’s, confiture’s, chocolate spreads), candy and cookie bouquets.
Mog will also serve an all-day menu which will have scrumptious sandwiches, waffles/ pancakes, salads, power lunches and a variety of hot and cold beverages .
In course of time Mog wishes to impart their knowledge and culinary skills to some of their guests, by way of cooking demos.
As a brand extension mog..Cake studio + all things good will also introduce ‘Mogchoc’ an artisanal chocolate bars in various flavours like hazelnut, mint and Tahitian vanilla. ‘Mogchoc’ will also offer chocolate rice krispies in dark and white chocolate and sugar free too.
