PANJIM: CII – Goa organised a day long workshop to discuss the recently introduced negative list regime in service tax. The workshop was attended by over 100+ participants from 50 organisations in Goa.
CII-Goa has been taking the lead in ensuring that trade and industry is made aware of various regulatory and tax changes on an ongoing basis by inviting eminent faculty and experts to share their views. This workshop was conducted by M S Mani, senior director,
Indirect Tax, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Limited a management professional specialised in indirect taxes.
The participants were taken through the various provisions forming part of the new legislation introduced from July 1, 2012. The new provisions have completely altered the taxation of services in India and various entities which were not earlier covered, have now been covered by the service tax regulations. Several aspects of taxability in terms of the negative list, taxable service, declared services, bundled services, exempted services, the new reverse charge mechanism etc. were discussed during the lively and interactive workshop. Many of the participants were forthcoming in their views that the new regime should have been introduced after more deliberations and there was an urgent need for more clarity on several aspects of the new provisions. Several lively discussions in respect of the issues facing the hotel industry and mining companies in Goa took place and many participants complimented CII Goa for organising an event of this kind and requested them to organize industry specific events also in future.
Oster Juicers launched

Intex unveils Aqua 4.0 3G
