Book release in Panjim PANJIM: ‘Mothering and Smothering — a guide to effective parenting” will be released by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat at Hotel Mandovi, Panjim on March 17 at 5.30 pm. The book by Counsellor, Snehalata Bhatikar is the English version of her award-winning Konkani book “Palak Ani Bhurguim”, published in 1999. Dr B J Prashantham, Director of the Christian Counselling Centre, Vellore will preside. Asha D Kamat and Rajan Narayan will be the guests of honour. Prof Ramola Antao will expound on the book. Trek to Himalayas on May 30 PANJIM: Base camp announces Himalayan Trekking Programme to Roopkund in Gharwai Himalayan Region. The participants
will leave on May 30 and will be back on June 12. The fourteen days programme will be inclusive of 9 days high altitude trekking at the height of 13000 ft above sea level. Procession at Panjim church PANAJI: The Panjim Church authorities have informed the parishioners and the public at large that their two traditional processions on Palm Sunday and Good Friday will be held through the traditional route on March 16 and March 21respectively. The non-Catholic devotees who come to offer flowers are informed that the following halts will be made: first near the Caculo building, then, at the turn leading to the M G Road and the last will be near the Jesuit house.—HND
