The Childrens Film Festival 2012 will be three days of fun-filled events for children including different competitions and a fashion show and of course films. Organised by Entertainment Society of Goa, the concluding day of the festival May 13, 2012 will have the fashion show where 25 children aged below 12 will walk the ramp with style and spunk in three rounds, festive, character and ethnic round. 

Dr Meenal Shirodkar’s 3 year old daughter, Urvi will be walking the ramp along with 24 other children below the age of 12. Dr Meenal from Caranzalem says, “Children should get exposure and this is an opportunity to train them to look confident on stage. Children might be too small but they have still picked up the instructions within two days. They have three rounds and we have been informed to use whatever clothes are available and refrain from buying new clothes specifically for the fashion show. Urvi will be wearing Cinderella outfit for the character round, it is a joy to see the children so happy about walking the ramp.”

“I feel activities like these are good in building a foundation for other activities in a child’s life. They should participate in school gatherings and summer camps which allows them to get out of their shell. There is no competition involved in this fashion show but children are happily mingling around and making new friends,” says Aruna Prabhu Chodnekar, mother of 7 year old Soma who will be dressing as a fairy.

Ratna Parab from Merces has two daughters who will be part of the fashion show, Piyusha and Akansha. “My daughters have always been participating in different activities in school and summer camps. They have taken part in fancy dress competitions and this was a chance to train in walking confidently for a fashion show. They are very excited.” The fashion show will be held on May 13, 2012 at 8:30pm at the Inox courtyard.
