Beach restoration on cards
PANJIM: It was disclosed that the Water Resources Department is in the process of finalising the designs and estimates for consultation with the Central Power and Water Research Station. These works are roughly estimated to cost Rs 1500 lakh.
This includes providing permanent revertment of shoreline protection, to provide underwater submerged reefs for facilitating the formation of the beach and beach nourishment by shifting the excess sand deposited in and around the ship area to the affected areas.
The work is expected to begin in November-December this year.
