Four more arrested for misappropriation of ore

COLLEM: Collem Police have arrested four more persons, including a minor, in connection with the iron ore misappropriation case.
According to Collem PI Jivaba Dalvi, police had arrested a tipper truck owner Balram Gurav from Tisk-Usgao on Thursday.
“During interrogation, Gurav confessed that he was also involved in the case,” said PI Dalvi.
“Gurav
told police that the agent, who would accompany the driver to the plot at Surla-Kothambi, would pay Rs 4,000 per trip and in all two trips were unloaded at the plot,” informed PI Dalvi.
Police further said that the truck driver and plot owner are absconding.
PI Dalvi further informed that on Friday, police arrested Baver Solanki, owner of a stationary and Xerox shop at old market Ponda and a workshop owner, Vishal Phadte, at Ponda.
Police also arrested a minor from Bicholim, who was involved in the making of duplicate rubber stamps and duplicate slips.
PI Dalvi said the agent and the minor boy prepared duplicate slips and allegedly approached Solanki and Vishal Phadte, who used to make rubber stamp at the workshop.
“The agent took duplicate rubber stamp of the Bimbol Mines from Baver Solanki and it was used to stamp unloading slips,” added police.
The truck drivers would unloaded iron ore at Kothambi and submit the slips at the company office at Bimbol.
The six accused arrested in connection with the case, have been released on conditional bail, while two accused are in police custody and will be produced before JMFC Sanguem on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the minor has been sent to Apna Ghar at Merces.
