Goa Highways Bill introduced

PANJIM: The Goa Government has introduced the Goa Highways (Amendment) Bill which seeks to make changes to the Goa Daman and Diu Highways Act 1974 by seeking to provide for the government to exempt any class of vehicles from payment of fees, provide for punishment for entering any bridges or highways without payment of fees and provide the government to enter into agreements for development and maintenance of highways bridges and roads.
The Bill seeks to amend section 54A and 54B of the Goa Daman and Diu Highways Act 1974 so as to enable the government to exempt under the Act, any motor vehicles from payment of fees to be levied under the said Act.
It further seeks to provide for punishment
or entering any bridges or such highways or roads without payment of the fees and still further to insert a new section 54D so as to enable the government to enter in to an agreement for development and maintenance of highways, bridges and roads.
