PONDA: The Curti-Khandepar Gram Sabha on Sunday was adjourned after the sarpanch allegedly failed to give satisfactory answers when villagers sought to know the action taken on the resolutions passed during the last gram sabha.
Noisy scenes were witnessed after the villagers accused the panchayat of not taking action on the earlier resolutions passed. However, the panchayat claimed that the resolutions passed were forwarded to the concerned departments and hence panchayat should not be held responsible.
However, this did not satisfy the aggrieved villagers, who demanded to adjourn the Gram Sabha and to present detailed report of the action taken on the resolutions passed during the next
meeting.
Following demand from the villagers, Sarpanch Deepa Naik adjourned the Gram Sabha and it will be held on December 16. Sarpanch Naik, when contacted over the phone, refused to give details and asked to visit the panchayat office on Monday.
