PANJIM: The Public Works Department (PWD) on Friday has vowed to have all roads in Goa cleared of all potholes by December 20, or else action would be initiated against Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers.
“We have issued the orders today,” PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said while assuring that PWD
would ensure that pot holes on all roads in Goa whether rural, urban, state highways, district and national highways will be covered under this drive.
“In case we receive any complaints of pot holes after December 20 we will not hesitate to act,” he said.
Meanwhile, PWD transferred 20 assistant engineers Friday following various complaints against them. Dhavalikar said that most of the assistant engineers against whom action has been initiated are either from Vasco, Fatorda or Quepem divisions.
Similarly 30 assistant engineers promoted earlier this week have also been given new postings.
