Two minor girls rescued

MARGAO: In yet another case of exploitation of minor girls from Odhissa came to the fore on Friday when a women’s rights organisation rescued two minor girls working in a baking unit in the jurisdiction of Maina-Curtorim police station.
The two rescued girls aged 12 and 14 years landed at the Maina Curtorim police
station when President of Bailancho Ekvott Auda Viegas brought them to the police station this morning.
Maina Curtorim PI Gurudas Kadam said the police has registered a case against the husband-wife duo and are further investigations.
“The two girls were dropped at the residence of an child right’s activist last night after they fled from the owner’s house”, PI Kadam said.
Auda has demanded that the police department should be serious in finding out the agents who traffic these minor children to Goa and then initiate proactive action in dealing with the families employing these minors and spare no one, however, influential who commits these offenses.
