June 16, 2012
PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar while pondering on the issue of corruption has said, “Lokayukta alone will not help remove corruption”.
“Quick decisions do not give rise to corruption but delays do. Maladministration and delays pay off”, the Chief Minister elaborated.
He admitted that corruption is going on in many departments including Mining Department where he initiated action against the then director of mines Arvind
Lolyekar. Lolyekar was placed under suspension for his alleged involvement in the mining scam. “Note has been moved for further action against him”, Parrikar informed.
