3 Goan footballers for Spain

MAPUSA: Three Goan boys have been selected by All India Football Federation (AIFF) for India under-15 team which will travel to Spain for an invitational tournament. The players will leave
for Spain on Monday.
Aldrich Coelho and Hayden Fernandes of Salgaocar and Stanny Braganca of Brasil Futebol Academia were the lucky players to have made it to the squad. Jason Lucas of Brasil Futebol Academia was also selected but will miss out after not being able to secure his new passport in time.
Aldrich is a striker and has played for the Salgaocar under-15 team, which won the India leg of MUPC Cup and had the opportunity to travel to Thailand for the Asia round.
Hayden plays in the midfield and has been associated with the Salgaocar youth team for the past three years.
Stanny and Jason, both joined BFA at the start of last season, playing in the GFA under-16 tournament. Stanny is a striker, while Jason is a central midfielder.
All the four talented boys were first spotted after representing Goa in this season’s Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy.
Hayden, Stanny and Jason have also been inducted into the AIFF Academy in Varshi, Mumbai from next month. The boys were selected after undergoing a selection trial conducted by AIFF head coach and under-20 coach Arthur Papas, in Pune in May.
