PANJIM: WGM Bhakti Kulkarni, Ritviz Parab, Rohan Ahuja, Cyrus Pereira and CM Nitish Belurkar are on 5.5 points at the end of the ninth round of Commonwealth
Chess Championship, in Chennai.
Nitish Belurkar held WFM G K Monisha (2027) of Tamil Nadu to a draw who was the under-14 girls bronze medallist in the recent World Youth Chess Championship 2012 in Maribor, Slovenia. Cyrus drew with Nimmy Gorge (2189) of Kerala while Ritviz got the better of Yashwant Dev Kumar (1924) of Tamil Nadu. Rohan defeated Jahir Hussain (1812) of Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Bhakti lost to Navin Khanna (2402) of Tamil Nadu. Anirudh Bhat, Rishubh Naik, Gauri Hadkonkar, Shane Braganza, Anant Prabhugoankar and Rajaryan Kuvelkar are on five points each.
WIM Ivana Furtado, WCM Riya Savant, Ameya Audi, Krystal Fernandes and M Barath are on 4.5 points each. Riddhi Zantye is on four points.
Suyan Belurkar, Sharmad Bodke, Adittee Prabhugaonkar are on 3.5 points each.
Swera Braganza, Gunjal Chopdekar, K Tushar, Urvi Bandekar, Saiesh Audi and Aishwarya Thorat are on three points each.
Faiziya Khan, Pawan Vernekar and Alaina Pereira are on 2.5 points each.
