JK lucky to draw with Goa

PANJIM: Goa drew with Jammu and Kashmir claiming three points due to their first inning lead in Ranji Trophy cricket match at Porvorim, Monday.
class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium; text-align: justify;">Resuming from their overnight tally of 288/2 Goa piled up a substantial 408/8 in 154 overs. For Goa, Kolkata Knight Riders’ star batsman Manvinder Bisla scored a handsome 80 studded with eight hits to the boundary and one over it. Reagan Pinto amassed 53 valuable runs including five fours and a six. Ravikanth Shukla scored 39 with four fours. Goa’s third casualty was Manvinder followed by Sagun Kamat, Ravikanth and Shadab Jakati who scored only three runs off 14 balls.
Reagan and Ravikanth were involved in an 80-run partnership while Sagun Kamat’s and Manvider Bisla’s resulted in 68 runs. For Jammu and Kashmir, Ram Dayal and Parvez Rasool took two wickets each.
Goa took a 1st innings lead of 70 runs.
Jammu and Kashmir were tottering at 95/6 in their second innings before the close of play on day-four. Bandeep Singh with 31 not out studded with five fours, Samiullah Beigh 19 not out and Hardeep Singh 14 were the only three batsmen to register double figure scores.
Shadab Jakati was Goa’s most successful bowler claiming four wickets for 26 runs. Saurabh Bandekar and Amogh Dessai claimed one wicket each.
Jammu and Kashmir’s second innings started disastrously, losing their first wicket with just 10 runs on the board. The other wickets then fell in quick succession at 15, 19, 23, 28 and 40.
