Lajong rally to hold Salgaocar
October 13, 2012
SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC came from behind to snatch a point from Salgaocar FC after they held the Goan giants to a 1-1 draw at JN Complex, here, Friday. There was no score at half time.
Salgaocar dominated the first half but were little unlucky not to open their account in the first half. In the fifth minute, a Rocus Lamare’s measured flag kick which was headed by Angel Guirado was punched by
custodian Lalthuammawia Ralte for a corner.
In the 29th minute, Lajong came close to scoring, but Boithang Haokip shot wide after Sushil Kumar Singh set him up brilliantly.
In the 52nd minute, Angel Guirado converted a free kick to give Salgaocar the lead. However, their joy was shortlived a minute later when Ebi Theopillus Sukore made no mistake in converting a cross.
Lajong’s North Korean defender Minchol Son was declared man-of-the-match.
Lajong have four points from two matches while Salgaocar have one point from two matches.
