Maina move into quarters

PANJIM: Maina Sports Club defeated Uguem Rising Club 4-1 to move into the quarter-finals of 12th all-Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup football tournament
organized by Guirdolim Club at church ground, Chandor. Maina led 2-0 at half time.
Maina forged ahead through Nevil Fernandes in the 10th minute. Agnelo doubled the lead when he dribbled past two defenders and slotted past the rival goalkeeper.
Agnelo scored for the second time to make it 3-0.
Uguem's Ashito pulled one back off a spot kick.
Jose Fernandes drove the last nail into the Uguem coffin in the dying minutes.
Earlier, Vincie Peixoto, Sarpanch, inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Sonia Dias, Deputy Sarpanch and guest of honour, Flavia D'Costa, Moura D'Costa, Agnelo Crasto, Milagres Gonsalves, Ballu Nistani, Donald Souza, Julio Fernandes and Darwin Cardoso.
