Michael Boys lift Arcanjo Trophy

PANJIM: Michael Boys prevailed over Excel Rovers 7-5 via the
tie-breaker to lift 9th all-Loutolim Camorlim Open nine-a-side Arcanjo memorial football trophy organized by Miracles Youth Club, Vanxem at church ground, Loutolim. The score was 2-2 at full time.

Michael Boys took the early lead through Zico Rodrigues and doubled it through Volney Vaz in the second half. However, Excel Rovers kept creating opportunities regularly and fought their back into the game with Revlon Fernandes scoring a brace in quick succession in the dying minutes, which was applauded by the crowd.
In the tie-breaker, Volny, Francis, Edmund, Adrino and Zico scored for Michael Boys while Anselmo, Revlon and Seby were on target for Excel Rovers.
Michael Boys received Rs 8,000 while Excel Rovers took home Rs 6.000.
Other prizes -- First scorer of the match: Zico Rodrigues (Michael Boys). Best disciplined team of the tournament: Youth of Devotte. Best defender of the tournament: Anselmo Fernandes (Excel Rovers). Best goalkeeper of the tournament: Rosvon Fernandes (Excel Rovers). Best player of the tournament: Volney Vaz (Michael Boys).
Fr Boulais da Costa, parish priest of Loutolim Church was the chief guest. Albert Pinheiro (Superintendent of Customs, Mumbai) and Merciana Fernandes were the guests of honour.
