CANACONA: Cocktails and Dreams, Palolem got the better of SFX Bhatpal 3-1 in via the tie-breaker to emerge champions of 4th Lalit Suri Cup
all-Canacona inter-club seven-a-side invitational football tournament organized by Lions Club of Canacona. The score was 1-1 at full time.

Palolem took the lead early in the second half when Terrence Lobo scored a fine goal. However, Palolem were let down by a serious lapse by their goalkeeper, as SFX’s Mackleen Fernandes pounced on the opportunity to restore parity in the dying minutes.
In the tie-breaker, Palolem’s goalkeeper Savio amended his earlier folly by making three brilliant saves. One of the Palolem players shot wide.
Palolem received Rs 25,555 while SFX has to be content with Rs13,333.
Other prizes -- Highest scorer: Alvito Miranda (Palolem). First scorer of final: Terrence Lobo (Palolem). Promising player: Nathan Fernandes (St Anthony’s Galgibaga). Player of the tournament: Caitan Fernandes (SFX). Best disciplined team: Devabhaga Boys.
In all, 16 teams participated.
Rajeshri Divakar Pagui and Satya Roy Choudhory gave away the prizes in the presence of Moteshino Fernandes, Gopinath Dessai, Mario Fernandes, Ulhas Phaldessai and Gopichand Vernekar.
