Tsewang and Subhash Singh scored one each in the two halves to take Pune back on the winning track. This was the first loss in the season for Pailan Arrows, who have been undefeated for the last 10 matches ever since the team was taken over by Australian coach Arthur Papas.
Pune’s James Moga won a tackle outside the Arrows’ box and set up Japanese midfielder Nishig Daisuke inside the box. The latter sent a smart pass to upcoming Karma, who scored without any fuss. The 11th minute goal gave Pune the right initiative.
Pune FC took control of the midfield as Douhou and Daisuke set up a good communication in the middle of the park. The visitors doubled the lead in the first minute after the interval when Daisuke set up a long floater for an onrushing Subhash Singh, who received it on the right of the Arrows’ box and finished it with a diagonal shot.
