MARGAO: The 21-year-old striker, Clencio Pinto has what it takes to be a notable player in the world of football.

Clencio, lives in Agalli, Margao and has been a sharp shooter of the ball ever since he began playing football at the Seminary of Our Lady Saligao.

“Football has always been my passion and I always had a dream to make a career in as a football player,” informed Clencio in a exclusive chat with Herald.

Clencio displayed tremendous skill and hard work to make it to the pro-league playing for the Margao Sports Club in 2011-12.

He later joined Wilfred Leisure Sports Club  in 2012-13 and moved on there after to be a part of the big boys playing for Goa’s most distinguished club, the Dempo Sports Club in 2013-14.

Pinto performed well in the striker’s role and did not disappoint his coach playing even in the wings. He played in the under -19 League from 2011-2014 for Dempo Sports club in Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Goa.

Clencio travelled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to train under the head coach of BOCA Juniors Academy. It was the same very coach who trained Carlos Tevez.

Clencio made his appearance at Gwalior nationals in 2014 and besides that played two open nationals in Kerala that season.

The young footballer admired the Indian Super League which he strongly believes to be a good platform for young players to emulate their football stars like Romeo.

Clencio also complimented the village football tournaments which he said was responsible for grooming budding talent.

The Agalli player always wanted to live his dreams and has to some extent made headway in realizing a part of it.

“As players we all can shine and perform well, it’s a good sign that ISL is born and it should continue in future,” said Clencio signing off on a high note.
