CALANGUTE: Stars de North Goa defeated a fighting Stars de South Goa by a 3-1 score-line in the All Star Veterans football match and organized by Eddie Fernandes and Family Calangute Goa ,at Calangute Association ground, Calangute, on Sunday.

Trevor Antao opened the account off a well measured pass from Stars de North Goa skipper Bruno Coutinho. 

Just before half-time, Stars de South Goa equalized off a penalty which was converted by Mario Soares when Domnic Pereira handled the ball off a corner. 

At half time the score was 1-1.

In the second half both teams came with renewed vigour and dished out fantastic passing game. 

Both teams came near scoring with both goalkeepers being outstanding. It was Jude Fernandes for North Goa and Avertano Furtado was excellent for South Goa.

 In a move initiated between Bruno and Alex, Allwyn Fernandes made it 2-0 after his powerful volley entered the net. 

Thereafter Stars de South Goa went all out for the equaliser and Marcus Carvalho failed equalized with an open goal infront of him after he shot over the cross bar. 

The match was out of South Goa reach when Frankie Mascarenhas’ through pass beat the South Goa defenders as Pascoal Pereira scored the third goal for Stars de North Goa.
