MARGAO: The Canacona Police found 57-year-old Andrew William Wyatt, a British national lying dead in a room at a resort in Palolem.

The Canacona police enquiry conducted revealed that the deceased was staying alone in a room at the resort for the past one month and he was a habitual drinker and diabetic.

Police said that further enquiry with the landlord revealed that on December 24 at around 7 pm, he went to check the room and the Brit was found lying on the bed and not responding.

Accordingly, the Brit was taken to Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) in an ambulance and doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Police conducted panchanama and the body has been preserved in Hospicio South Goa District Hospital morgue, for medico legal formalities.

The police said that they will inform the British Embassy and relatives of the deceased about the incident. Further investigation is with PSI Babu Dessai.
