Rosary HSS, KV Vasco score narrow wins

NAVELIM: Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim defeated Mount Mary’ s HSS, Chinchinim 3-2 in the of the OORJA-CAPFs U-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament in girls’ category, on Tuesday.
Both teams dominated the first ten minutes of the match.
However, it was Rosary HSS who had the first crack at the rival goal in the third minute when Clancia Costa’s close range shot hit Mount Mary’s cross piece before rolling back into play.
However, Shina Shivolkar’s rebound shot was brilliantly saved by Mount Mary keeper Prithi Naik.
In the next minute, Rosary HSS scored the team’s first goal through Somaaya Mukandan who scored from the box with a well placed shot off Jolinda Ferrao’s assist.
In the 10th minute, Mount Mary’s Clancy Miranda was denied by Rosary’s keeper with a brilliant save.
Crossing ends, Mount Mary’s HSS came back strongly and almost scored the equalising goal but Rosary keeper Pooja Poojarn was alert to deny Clancy Miranda.
At the other end, Somaaya Mukundan doubled the lead for Rosary, Navelim in the 37th minute off a long ball from Shina Shivolkar. Anilee Fernandes made it 3-0 for Rosary HSS in the 46th minute.
Mount Mary’s scored two quick goals through Terray Pinto in the 58th and 60th minute.
In another match at Navelim ground, Kendriya Vidyalaya,Vasco defeated Fr Agnel, Pilar 2-0
Somya Shevale and Vaishnavi MS scored for the winners.
