St Xavier’s, Loyola, Perpetual Succour, Holy Rosary move ahead

RAIA: St Xavier’s HS, Velim; Loyola HS, Margao, Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim and Holy Rosary Convent HS, Nuvem moved ahead in the U-14 inter-school Salcete taluka boys football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs on Tuesday.
At Fatorda, St Xavier’s HS defeated Our Lady of Carmel HS, Curtorim by 3-1 margin. For the winners, Zahid Sanadi, Avon Pinto and Aakash Mirami scored a goal each while the only goal for Our Lady of Carmel HS was scored by Sneeden Almeida.
Loyola HS scored a solitary goal win over Mount Mary’s HS, Chinchinim. The all-important goal of the match was scored on the spot kick by Rui Noronha.
Perpetual Succour Convent High School thrashed Adarsh Vanita Vidyalaya HS, Margao 5-0. Aden Dias scored a brace while Freldon Gomes and Delmon Rebello accounted each goal for Perpetual Succour Convent HS.
One own goal was also scored by Adarsh VV HS to take Perpetual Succour Convent High School tally to five.
At Manora ground, Holy Rosary Convent HS, Nuvem also made it to the second round via the 5-3 tie-breaker win over St Anthony’s HS, Majorda. Both the teams were tied at 2-2 at full time.
Michael Angelo and Rohish Gawde scored for Holy Rosary Convent HS while Tanmay Sharma and Lysander Baretto accounted a goal each for St Anthony’s HS. In the tie-breaker, Holy Rosary Convent HS proved to be better shooters.
