Marina English, St Xavier’s HS win

MARGAO: Marina English HS of Verna, Holy Spirit HS of Margao, OL of Succour HS of Nagoa, St Xavier’s HS of Velim and OL of Rosary HS of Fatorda moved ahead in the Salcete Taluka U-14 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.

MARGAO: Marina English HS of Verna, Holy Spirit HS of Margao, OL of Succour HS of Nagoa, St Xavier’s HS of Velim and OL of Rosary HS of Fatorda moved ahead in the Salcete Taluka U-14 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
On Wednesday, in the first match played at Fatorda Astroturf ground, Marina English HS thumped Savior of World HS of Loutolim by comfortable 4-0 margin. Eldridge Fernandes scored a brace while Milvuen Moniz and Ashvek Jadhav scored a goal each.
Nathan Rodrigues scored all important goal as Holy Spirit High School scored a narrow win over OL of Health High School of Cuncolim. OL of Succour High School had to wait until tie breaker to shoot out  Fr Agnel Multipurpose HS of Verna by 5-3 margin. Both the teams were tied at 2-2 at normal time. Asis Carvalho and Sidroy Carvalho scored for OL of Succour while Francisco Fernandes and Sahil Inamdar scored goals for Fr Agnel HS. 
At Manora ground, Raia, St Xaviers’s HS defeated St Jude’s HS of Betalbatim 2-0. Tinon Fernandes and Aakash Mirashi scored a goal each for winners. In the second match, a fine brace by Siddell Araujo helped OL of Rosary HS of to beat Bhatikar Model English HS by 2-0 margin.
