Perpetual Succour HS win shoot-out, storm into semi-finals


CHANDOR: Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim defeated St. Xavier's High School, Velim 4-3 via the tie-breaker and moved into the semi-finals of the 1st teacher Dolorosa memorial U-17 girls football tournament, played at Chandor ground, on Wednesday. 
The striker of Perpetual Succour Chelsea Crasto should have found the ball at the back of St Xavier’s net but the latter’s shot was brilliantly saved by St Xavier’s keeper Swiza Fernandes in the 2nd minute. 
St Xavier’s Shirel Fernandes had her shot cut short as the Perpetual Succour keeper Mayflower Colaco  was equal to the task in the 16th minute. 
As the match progressed, Perpetual Succour missed two great sitters in the 18th and 20th minute through Chelsea Crasto but on both occasions her power drive shots hit the side netting of St Xavier’s High School.
In the tie-breaker, Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim converted through Suzann Schubert, Chelsea Crasto, Sweta Pashupatihal and Rosanne Rodrigues while for St. Xavier's High School, Velim  Valica Correia, Tejal Correia and Sharufa Fernandes scored.
