Regina Martyrum HS win Dolorosa memorial football

CHANDOR: Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna got the better of Rosary High School, Navelim 3-1 via the tie-breaker to win the 1st Teacher Dolorosa Memorial U-17 Girls football tournament, organised by Chandor Club, played at Chandor ground, on Saturday.

CHANDOR: Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna got the better of Rosary High School, Navelim 3-1 via the tie-breaker to win the 1st Teacher Dolorosa Memorial U-17 Girls football tournament, organised by Chandor Club, played at Chandor ground, on Saturday.
Regina Martyrum’s Pritty Keveker’s shot was fisted away by the Rosary keeper. Rosary HS striker Jolinda Ferrao’s shot was saved by keeper Gauri Naik.
In the second half, Regina dominated the proceedings with Clency Miranda’s shot which was denied by the Rosary post in the 48th minute. 
Regina’s Pritty Kevekasr’s move was foiled by Saina Shivolkar defender of Rosary in the same minute.
In the tie-breaker, Regina Martyrum High School netted through Clency Miranda, Razia Pereira and Suveda Koketa while for Rosary High School, Navelim only Melifa Pereira scored.
The winners were awarded Rs. 15,000 while the runners-up were awarded Rs. 10,000 plus trophies. Elvis Gomes president of GFA was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of Juliana Gurjao e Colaco, chairperson of Women’s Sports committee of GFA, Arnald D’Costa GFA Executive member, Celina Furtado Sarpanch of Chandor along with other dignitaries and club officials.

Individual awards: Best forward: Dalsy Crasto of Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna; Best defender: Saina Shivolkar of Rosary HS, Navelim; Best midfielder: Suveda Komete Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna; Best goalkeeper: Gauri Naik of Regina Martyrum HS, Assoln; Clancy Miranda and Jolinda Ferrao of Regina Martyrum and Rosary HS were awarded Best Commendable performance trophies.
