REGINA MARTYRUM HS EMERGE VICTORIOUS
Razia and Clency net a goal each for the winners to clinch U-17 girls Salcete zone

FATORDA: Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna defeated Rosary HSS, Navelim 2-0 to clinch the U-17 girls Salcete taluka Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by DSYA, at PJN Stadium, on Saturday.
Regina Martyrum HS displayed brilliant piece of football and had the first shot at the goal as their striker Ianira Fernandes took control of the ball from Clency Miranda and sent a short pass to Razia Pereira but the latter shot wide in the 4th minute.
At the other end, Rosary HSS’s striker Tercy Pinto’s solo effort was tackled by Ianira Fernandes of Regina Martyrum HS.
Regina Martyrum HS went all out and broke the deadlock as Razia Pereira netted the first goal through a direct free kick in the 16th minute.
Struck by reverse, Rosary HSS tried their level best to get back into the game and had a chance as they received a spot kick.
Sania Shivolkar brilliantly executed the free-kick but the missed the nets by inches.
With three minutes left for the final whistle, Clency Miranda’s diagonal shot crashed into Rosary HSS’s nets to make it 2-0.
