Regina Martyrum HS, OL Mother of the Poor HS prevail

GUDI-PARODA: Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna and OL Mother of Poor High School, Tilamol entered the semi-finals of the late Ramnath D. Volvotkar Memorial 2nd All Goa inter-school U-17 boys football tournament organised by “Insight” the Society for Sports, Culture, Youth Affairs & Charity, at Gudi – Paroda ground, on Monday.

In the first match of the day, Regina Martyrum High School downed Marina Englsih HS, Verna 5-4 via the tie-breaker.

Joean Simoes gave Regina Martyrum HS the lead in the 33rd minute. 

The lead was short-lived as Akif Sayed equalised for Marina EHS in the 42nd minute.

 In the ensuing tie-breaker, Joean Simoes, Brighton Fernandes, Jolan Simoes, Prajwal Juwatkar and Crossly Louis scored for Regina Martyrum HS whereas Ashvek Jadhav, Akif Sayed, Mysler Braganza and Nash Rebello scored for Marina English High School. Joean Simoes of Regina Martyrum HS was awarded the player-of-the-match.

In the second quarter-final, OL Mother of the Poor HS blanked St Anne’s HS, Agonda-Canacona 4-0.

 Salgio Dias gave the lead to OL Mother of the Poor School in the very first minute. 

Milroy Clement doubled the lead in the 14th  minute while Rahul Pawar added one more to take the tally to make it 3-0 at the breather. 

In the second session, Selgeo Dias scored the fourth goal for OL Mother of the Poor HS.

 Milroy Clement of OL Mother of the Poor HS was adjudged as player-of-the-match.
