This refers South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha’s reaction to Nuvem MLA and GVP Supremo Mickey Pacheco’s euphoria following a feel good lunch with our CM, wherein Pacheco stated that together , BJP and GVP would reduce the Congress to just 2-3 seats during the 2017 elections. The initial scepticism of total annihilation of Congress seems justified, since Congress would not be in power, and hence, there would not be a reason for the abhorrence due to corruption, abuse of power or mis-governance during Congree regime. However, niz goenkars would not buy the argument against the demolition of the illegal structures at Monte Dongor. These were patronized by the former CM who, on the strength of his vote bank, at one time brazenly told his Goan constituents that he did not need their votes to win. Sardinha has sought to muddy the issue by blaming the concerned officials, whereas no person or official could touch this eyesore at Monte Dongor, lest they face a vendetta of damage to their career from the always smiling but persevering former CM. Apparently,Congressmen including seniors such as Sardinha haven’t yet understood the angst of the Goans who have already decimated the old ocean of a party to a single cipher strength. If the arrogance persists, Pacheco’s estimation could still provide a trend, if not the figure for 2017.
With an aim to marginalize ethnic Goans, Kamat started construction of massive slums of illegal squatters, who maintained their voting rights in their original states, but were provided fraudulent ration cards, voter cards etc., with false affidavits. The last census has already thrown up a very disturbing statistic of 6.7 lakhs persons declaring Konkani as their mother tongue as against the current population of 16 lakhs in Goa. . It is interesting to observe that Verna Industrial Estate might be employing about 45000 persons out of which only 10% are Goans, holding mostly menial positions. In the face of such discrimination by his colleagues, why is Sardinha trying to obstruct the corrections and restitution of legal rights of the Comunidade of Margao? The in- migration could result in rapid reduction of ethnic Goans to less than 60%, only because of illegal granting of ration cards and voter cards. It is a large scale fraud accounting for at least 25% of Goa’s population and taken place in a short span of seven to ten years.
