The necessary papers in support of sale of coconuts were submitted in the month of June .The Govt had announced a subsidy of Rs8, less the sale price. Inquiries in the concerned office reveal that the necessary details of the scheme have not been finalised and nothing is received about processing of applications for subsidies.
Many submitted forms are piled up and any hopes for immediate settlement are too distant. It would have been advisable to finalise the details of the schemes , before the grand announcement.
Similar is the case of doles to the house wives. The laborious forms are not even accepted, and there is no date fixed for the receipt of the same . Raising expectations and then dashing them against the rocks of reality, is depressing and disappointing

Need a migrant CM?
I read with interest the letter of Alvito Dias (August 18, 2012). He says he disagrees with Lawrence D’Cruz that Goa was invaded in 1961. I was there when a bomb was thrown over Bambolim. We were all panic-stricken. Many of us fearing for our lives, fled to Panjim on foot.
What we can say is that we were liberated from the Portuguese rule and that General Vassalo e Silva was replaced by Kamat, Rane, Alemao, De Souza and Parrikar, all true sons of the soil, our own Goans, who rule over us Goans supposedly better than the Portuguese.
But I won’t be surprised if Kamat and the others stand for re-election along with a migrant. I have a wicked thought: I will be happy when the migrant defeats them and becomes the Chief Minister. I don’t think it will be worse for Goans. If it is worse, we chose it.

No space for fakes
I read with disgust an article about how one fakes to get a job, “Travels with Eddy” on your issue dated August19,2012. Do we need to stoop so low ? And what is the message you are sending across to your readers?

Sick Ekta Kapoor!
This is in regards to the controversial film “Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum” whose content has hurt the sentiments of Catholic community. Over the years, Bollywood has porteayed Goan catholics in poor light. They portray Goan woman as cheap bar dancers or as moles of villains and Goan men as drunkards goons. In true Christian values, the community has not retaliated violently and as a result the Bollywood producer/actors have taken catholic community for granted.
Ekta Kapoor, the producer of this film, is also known as the queen of TV serial or is she really is ?. She has made numerous never ending serial which at times has created discord in family ties. Having made fame and money in TV serials, she is now trying to promote her brother Tushar a super flop hero at any cost.
The censor board is either blind on this matter or filled with corrupt people. The catholic community is hurt by such films and as such the best way to retaliate against such cheap and sick producers and actors is by sending them as many “Gat well wishes” messages , as possible.
