Skal Goa bags award

PANJIM: Skal International (Goa) 691 which started in 2007 and has completed 14 years this May, has now been rated as one of the top three in the world. Goa Skal has won ‘Skal International Club of the Year’ award for 2019-2021.

“We are a vibrant club of 165 members which include 77 young skalleagues from VM Salgaonkar Institute of International Hospitality Education, Raia and Institute of Hotel Management, Porvorim,” said the president of Skal Goa, Ernest Dias

Shekhar Divadkar, Secretary of Skal Goa said, “Our Skal members embarked on a serious mission on saving lives and helping to build the resilience so badly required by our front line Covid warriors.”

The Secretary informed that they had won the “Skal International Club of the Year 2019-2021” amongst 300 plus Clubs for being a vibrant club as per their criteria and we received the Michael O’Flynn Perpetual Trophy and also a double  registration for the Quebec International World Congress to be held in December 2021.

Speaking to Herald Earnest Dias also informed that for the second time running their club in Goa has been shortlisted and invited to enter the Skal Club of the year 2020-2021. 

“We are the only Club in Asia who have completed all parameters and qualified in the race for this year’s Skal Club of the year Award. The other Skal Clubs who have qualified and eligible are Acapulco Mexico, Gold Coast Australia, Goa, India, New Jersey United States, New York United States, Port Moresby Papua New Guinea, Tampa Bay United States, Taxco Mexico, and Queenstown New Zealand,” added Dias.
