PANJIM: The new offering from Audi in the Q3 series has caught the fancy of the customers it is targetting and the company hopes to help it will propel its sales in the country this year.

The company which launched the My 18 in the Q3 series a couple of months earlier is selling around 8-10 cars from the stable every month. The compnay hopes to sell around 400 in a year. This confidence is based on the fact that there are around 300 cars on the roads of the State and the quality of the car is known amongst its fans. The company which entered the country ten years ago is targeting on increasing its reach in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Puneet Anthony, Sales Manager Audi Goa said the cars were the same cars as were sold in Europe, and they were assembled in Aurangabad. He said there was a growing new segment of customers who were upgrading from premium sedans to compact and executive luxury sedans and SUVs. These are young achievers, in the age bracket of 28-32 years with disposable incomes to treat themselves to a luxury car, not only in Tier 1 cities, but Tier 2 and 3 towns as well. This is the segment that Audi has been able to consistently tap owing to their market positioning for young and young at heart customers and Audi definitely expects strong growth and market share from this new segment of luxury car buyers.

A unique initiative that Audi has planned to enter Tier 2 and 3 cities is a ‘Workshop First’ approach, in the regions where the brand has a considerable car park.  Audi will also reach out to customers in cities where they do not have dealerships through Audi Mobile Terminal. Audi Mobile Terminal will be visiting 40 cities this year.
