PANJIM: Canon India has inaugurated its second CIS store in the State. The exclusive store known as the Canon Image Square (CIS) and located in Margoa, will be a platform to showcase a complete user experience with all the products in the stable. The store was inaugurated by Eddie Udagawa, VP, Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India.
He said “the company had opened around 232 stores in 110 cities and had plans to open 260 CIS stores by the end of 2017. The company is targeting tier 2 and 3 markets as part of their expansion plans in the country. I believe the photo culture in India is very promising. There are so many old structures to photograph in the country. I noticed it in Goa too.”
He said “the difference in the quality of final picture is very obvious. You take a photo on your camera and post it on Facebook but something taken with your camera is cherished and you can go back to it ten years later. In India, photography industry is reconfiguring itself by manifesting in the form of growing interest in higher functionality compact and digital SLR cameras. We continue to reach out to Tier II and Tier III cities in the country to engage with consumers, as we believe in promoting the art of photography and the power it entails. We conduct various workshops and training modules, promote photo tours and so on which keep happening all over the country.”
