PANJIM: ‘Naya Bharat Hum Karke Rahenge’ (New India we resolve to make), a four-day event organised by the Government of India and GAIL India Limited was inaugurated by the Union Cabinet Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises, Anant Gangaram Geete along with Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, today. Vinay D Tendulkar, MP and S K Shrivastav, ED and GM, GAIL India Ltd were also present. 

The exhibition was conducted to highlight the importance of the vision ‘New India’ which is free of garbage, poverty, corruption, terrorism, casteism and communalism by 2022.

Mr Geete said “Today, a new India is emerging and evolving. Peace, harmony and development is all that we need to make India free from garbage, poverty, corruption and terrorism by 2022.  We are stepping towards a new era of development and each one of us must contribute their share in making this dream into a reality.”

A photo exhibition was also organised by DAVP to highlight every phase of the Quit India Movement. The exhibits show the freedom struggle of the country right from 1857 to 1947.

Visitors along with students from five different schools visited the exhibition. Picture exhibition, literary and various other cultural programmes will be held during the four-day exhibition. 

The exhibition is being held from September 19 to 22 from 11 am to 8 pm at Kala Academy, Panjim.
