The fifth edition of Goencho Avaz, the All Goa Konkani singing competition presented by Herald Group and Ulhas Jewellers, supported by Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, and powered by MVR Homes, was heldin Panjim with a total of 18 solo singers and seven pairs of duet singers. The event received an overwhelming response from a full house of music lovers

 

Goencho Avaz, the fifth edition

of the renowned Konkani singing competition by Herald Group and Ulhas Jewellers, was organised at Kala Academy, Panjim. The finals in Panjim saw the participation of 18 solo singers and seven pairs of duet singers. The Chief Guest for the competition was Govind Gaude, Art and Culture Minister and the Guest of Honour was Michael Lobo, Deputy Speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly. The Goencho Avaz participants performed to the music of Roy Menezes and his troupe for the finals at Panjim. The sound was by PD Sound while the lights, stage and décor was by Dias Events. The LED screen was setup by ABHIS LED WALL. The show was compered by Agnelo de Borim and Elaine Pinto.

Besides the onstage performance, the online voting contest for ‘Goencho Avaz - Popular Contestant’ is being organised by Ulhas Jewellers on its Facebook page. The contest is open to the public for a limited time period to vote online for the title of ‘Goencho Avaz - Popular Contestant’ and will end on the morning of August 9, after which, the system will automatically lock access to all videos and votes will be counted. The winners of Goencho Avaz will be announced at the Mega Finals, which will be held on August 11, 2018 at 6:30pm at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
