Healthway Hospital has launched its Department of Ayurveda and Yoga centre recently and is the first hospital in Goa to merge modern science and authentic Ayurveda and Yoga together.

At Healthway Hospital, Ayurveda would be made available to patients at the Outpatient and Inpatient level.

The hospital informed that it has partnered with Dr Tina Dias, a Goan in origin, who is an International Ayurveda Consultant having her clinics across various countries. Dr Tina graduated from Shiroda Ayurveda College and practised her passion in Dubai

Dr.Tina and her team would be available helping patients recover from their problems, and then to follow the right advice on diet, daily regimen, seasonal regimen among other processes.

Dr.Joseph from the Ayurveda and Yoga team added,” We Indians were always leading an Ayurveda life, our Kitchen itself is our pharmacy, our gardens and lawns are perfect to grow Ayurveda herbs and practice yoga, it is only now that we are realising it is  Ayurveda Lifestyle, hence  no  special effort needs to be put in to bring Ayurveda to every home, it's just about creating awareness.

On Ayurveda’s role in COVID times, Dr. Tina says, “ Ayurveda science written thousands of years ago has proven its survival through time and is now being used successfully in treating COVID patients. We will continue to educate people about adopting a healthy lifestyle & teach various regimens described in our science which will prove extremely beneficial to patients. Building immunity is not a one day process. We have to work on it by applying yogic principles to create mental wellbeing which is also one of the biggest challenges today”

Besides immunity enhancement, other services we will include are slimming and weight management, and other wellness, lifestyle and health-related facilities

Dr Tina stated that panchakarma and detox which will be delivered with expertise. “During these difficult times a system of  medicine which can help develop and boost immunity would be essential for our community to navigate these challenges”, she added

Dr Tina adds, “world-wide people will follow us henceforth, and as the old saying stands Prevention is better than cure, where the Indian greeting style is adopted by the whole world, from now onwards social distancing, wearing facemask will be everyone’s lifestyle and adopting Ayurveda by the world would be a necessity.
