Home-Koming for Priyanka
Priyanka
Chopra’s poster of ‘Mary Kom’ has created quite a stir on the social media. The
actress plays the Olympic bronze medallist boxer in the biopic and describes it
as her hardest work so far. By now, everyone knows that she went through a
rigorous training schedule to train for her role. What most don’t know is that
it all happened at her house, right here in Goa. Also, last week, just days
ahead of the release of her film, Priyanka was in Goa to spend few days at her
‘home’.
Before the
training could begin, Priyanka was involved in several commitments at that
time. ‘Gunday’ was being shot and she was also dubbing for ‘Krrish’. Her busy
schedule made it difficult for her to give the desired time for training. But
thanks to a 15-day break in her schedule, her trainer suggested a place anywhere
far away from work where Priyanka could just train. The actress agreed and
plans were made to fly off to Goa — to her house, which she had bought a few
years ago.
When in
Goa, the duo trained for five hours, every single day. According to her trainer,
Priyanka’s body was also recovering from work-related stress and she was
getting sleep right as well. Soon, after a month of workouts, which included
weights and circuit training, actual boxing training was stressed upon to get
her stance right. It was around the same time that Priyanka’s father was
ailing. During this time, it was her mother, Madhu who was a big source of
support.
