Showing the way without a doubt

We asked a rather simple question, how the youth are contributing towards progress and development in the State, and the answers were quite interesting
Showing the way without a doubt

In today's world, youth really play a significant role in shaping our state and country in a meaningful path through various ways. By educating themselves, by taking parts in various championships, also youth fight for the their right rather than keeping silent, they also take interest and leadership in political and social work fields. If anything goes wrong in front of their eyes then they definitely fight for the rights... For example last year youth gathered protesting at railway track to save Mollem National Park. And that's where we can bring change... When youth comes forward to fight and contribute towards progress and improvement that's the time we can get change in our country.. Youth are the future of tomorrow and Our vision is to see non-corrupted, developed with all the facilities, clean and green Goa. And we can bring the change.

The youth are contributing in various ways towards progress and development in the state. The last couple of years have seen a rise in the number of first generation entrepreneurs. While some of them are Goan youth, a majority of them are youngsters coming to Goa from tier 1 cities like Mumbai, Delhi etc. Most of these individuals are in the food business, While some have IT ventures and so on. Also, NRIs based abroad or in metropolitan cities in India are moving to Goa to start their own business because they're tired of corporate life, and they see Goa as a good place to start their ventures, while also ensuring a good work-life balance. The local Goan youth need to develop a little more drive and enterprise and I'm sure they will. For instance, there is a young entrepreneurial group in Mapusa which strives to be a one-stop shop for all waste management needs. It will be the first of its kind founded by an Goan entrepreneur.

Well youths like me we try different ideas to try create something which can be useful for people and can be a change, we are basically in the stage of experimenting and bringing solutions. However having them implemented is a big step as all inventions or ideas have their drawbacks which we need to understand and solve

There are youths like me who try different ideas to create something which can be useful for people and can bring a change. We are basically in the stage of experimenting and bringing solutions. There are many youngsters who have completed their studies and are now coming back or moving to Goa to work. They are also participating in people's movements. Most people participating in such campaigns are below 30 and are very active. They are involved in mobilizing on ground groups to writing research papers, press releases and uploading social media content for garnering support.

Youths are putting in collective effort for a sustainable future. Even though the youth have the power of technology, they are also aiming to develop a sustainable way of life here in our State. Within my network there are notable influential youngsters individually working to convince more to join in the movement. I would say majority of the progress has been possible with the involvement of younger generation as they work towards convincing not only authorities but also their families, which forms the grassroot for development in a State like Goa.

From my eyes, it's a positive growth and trend that I can see. In recent times more so, the youth have stepped up - we've begun making our voices known, especially when it's required to express dissent, such as with the threats caused by the three linear projects through Mollem to the environment and livelihoods in Goa; the youth have begun taking responsibility and initiative, there's more constructive communication, participation and engagement of the youth in these important discussions, many of the youth come together to even educate local communities on these matters, those that are aware of all these matters teach those that may not be aware, and so on. And this has taken place in person and on social media, which has allowed for such a strong rise in the quantitative and qualitative involvement of the youth today. The youth of Goa are the ones who are, in all honesty, taking the state forward.

What Goa is witnessing in the present scenario is what economists describe as reverse brain drain. It feels hopeful when observing goan youth engaging in positively contributing to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by exhibiting their superior spending power thereby, normalising the average per-capita income in the state. The ban on mining has cast economic gloom over the state’s welfare forcing Goans to seek greener pastures in the form of migration while exploiting opportunities that the Portuguese Passport offered to persons of Goan origin. Goan youth who migrated to other continents gained experience from their stays abroad while they also begun to see the advantages of returning to Goa and leading a life of sufficient prosperity. The repatriated talent in the form of qualified, skilled and experienced Goan youth could presently attract nationalised businesses to set-up operations in Goa thereby helping to generate the much needed revenue that the state needs.

When the impressionable generation of Goan youth witness this trend of amelioration in state welfare owing to a growth in regionalistic behaviour, it has the propensity to retain our goan youth within the state thereby enhancing and repopulating the glorious heritage that our forefathers always envisioned for their future generations.

The youth of a country determine its future. After the Covid breakdown, we have seen youth helping a lot of people with medicines and food. They also participated as community planners in community development work. The youths bring with them a lot of advancements and innovations be it technological or industrial, and those two are part of what a nation, state or an organization needs, to advance itself.
