No intention to terminate CSK, RR
Prof Robert Castellino, Calangute
Instead of terminating the two banned teams, the IPL's Governing Body (GB) has predictably put them on life-support. The GB has decided to form a working group to study the Justice Lodha Committee report and submit its findings to the BCCI within six weeks. It is obvious that the BCCI has no intention of terminating Rajasthan Royals and CSK.
RR would have been axed without a fuss if it was the only ' lowest hanging fruit '. The Royals can thank their stars that there is one other very juicy fruit hanging low on the same branch! And that fruit is the prized CSK team which cannot be axed for obvious reasons. It is very apparent that no one is keen on cleaning up the mess.
If the BCCI is really keen on restoring public confidence it will have to do three things-- terminate CSK and RR from IPL , make the Mudgal Committee public and reveal all names in the 'sealed envelope' .
