Low political

discourse

The level of political discourse has hit the nadir when Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar called the PM ‘neech admi’ which means ‘low level person’ and was suspended from the primary membership of the Congress party.

In fact, it was Modi who started this name-calling spree when he called his predecessor ‘nikama’ and there have been so many inflammatory statements being made by various politicians related to the Padmavati movie and love Jihad. However, no politician has apologizsed or been suspended from their political parties.

Hope the PM will take note of this and raise the level of the political discourse in the country and avoid being compared to Donald Trump.

Politics of cheap

personal attacks

It is shocking that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was called a "neech aadmi” by Mani Shankar Aiyar. The Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi asked  Aiyar  to apology to the Prime Minister. Aiyar apologised. Rightly he is suspended from Congress. But the question is how low can our  politicians  stoop.

In March 2017 also political scene was the  worse – personal attack were made in public by politicians. There is no improvement in this low attitude. Politicians just do not have anything worth allegations / policy matter of political parties to make a comment / condemn! Such silly remarks lead to the controversy to the extent, never expected.  In public ‘Sabhya bhasha ka istamall zaroori hai.’

Strangely the media particularly TV starts a debate on worthless remark /opinions of these low politician wasting their and public time, both. Being a political person, one must think before speaking anything to the press! There is no second opinion that personal attacks must be avoided. It is sad that in this “Kalyug” people at large including politicians love power and money more than personal relations and have lost values. The present political scenario of personal attacks proves that there is no personal life and respect and politics has fallen to lowest ebbs.

Some principles must be followed by everyone.  Unless and until low character people are there - criminal background candidates - such cheapness shall continues.

No motor zone

A ‘no motor zone’ event is scheduled to be organised at Porvorim on December 10. It is understood that the road from NCERT to Porvorim police station will be closed to traffic from 8 am to 2 pm. Several food stalls and game stalls will be put up and there will be various activities like horse-riding, bullock cart-riding, karate, etc. There will be special kids’ zone, family zone and a zone for special children. But probably the greatest joy will be the thought that one can walk and cycle on the road without worrying about the traffic.

It may be recalled that such a ‘No Mo Zo’ event was organized in the Port Town of Vasco some years back which was a huge success and was well appreciated by the locals. Citizens need to have space to have a good time along with family and friends and such an event on our busy roads can provide just that. It also brings back nostalgic moment of the past when there was skeletal traffic on the roads.

The modern generation may have not seen a stretch of road devoid of traffic during the day, be it in the cities or the villages. The number of traffic on the roads is growing by leaps and bounds. It is events like the ‘No Mo Zo’ which gives the citizens a break from the traffic and the related dust and noise pollution, even if it is for a few hours. Civic bodies need to organize such an event in their respective cities, and more importantly make it an annual event and not just organize it once in a blue moon.

Jerusalem

the Capital

The first mention of Zion in the Bible is 2 Samuel 5:7: “David captured the fortress of Zion—which is the City of David.” Zion was originally an ancient Jebusite fortress in the city of Jerusalem. After David’s conquest of the fortress, Jerusalem became a possession of Israel. The royal palace was built there, and Zion/Jerusalem became the seat of power in Israel’s kingdom. Therefore Jerusalem is the capital of Israel without any doubt.

The President of US has taken a right decision of shifting their embassy to Jerusalem.  Moreover Israel is the apple of God's eye.  Any decision against Israel will affect God. It does not matter if some people and nations are angry as mentioned by one of your readers.
