Outsiders are indeed trying to finish our Goan Culture

This is with reference to the article by Joel Moraes titled “Is this killing of our culture?” dated 22/12/16.  Well, I fully agree with all his views over the same topic and do say that the people who are still trying to finish our open-air Goan Catholic weddings, dances etc under some pretext or the other are indeed mostly outsider settlers as they still cannot identify themselves with our Goan culture and traditions.
I too as a child have been a part of so many Catholic weddings, traditional dances, Tiatrs etc in the past which used to commence from 10.30 p.m. and go till 5 in the morning.  It was real fun at that time and the best thing about everything was that no one used to get disturbed or complain giving silly excuses of noise pollution or sleep disturbance as most people were open-minded then and not crooked-minded or selfish unlike today.  Goans used to come together in large numbers so very often in the past and really enjoy all their traditions as one family in their own unique style by dining, drinking, merry-making, dancing etc the whole night. Unfortunately, the anti-Goan law called ‘Madhya Pradesh Noise Pollution Act’ which was imposed in Goa in the late 90’s under flimsy excuse of noise pollution/security threats have indeed gone to screw almost everything and have slowly gone to bring a complete end to most of these beautiful Goan traditions.
I think that our elected local politicians should have at least re-drafted their own law keeping all our aged-old unique Goan traditions in mind and also the night-life activities due to a large number of tourists coming here to Goa every season to hear our unique live world music. The reason why I am still damn against this anti-Goan law is because I have always seen the same being unleashed to disrupt only our Goan traditions but not the drugs-related moon-light or Trance parties which are held at all the coastal belts of Goa as these are  allowed to go on whole night, why? Now, why are some people indulging in such open double standards in Goa?
Yes, I do believe that the reason why some outsiders who have settled here are selectively trying to target our Goan Catholic weddings, beat shows, dances etc on flimsy excuses then that’s not due to their concerns for noise pollution but only because they are hell-bent on killing our true unique Goan culture, in their own ‘Ghaanti-style’ just to impose their sick gaudy culture in Goa…..  Shame on all such sick fanatic-headed people…. C’mon Goa, it’s time to really unite and to save our Goan culture to protect our unique identity one’s for all…. Time to re-draft our own law and allow the show to go on to really save our aged-old unique traditions/customs/culture in Goa.
