How do I explain to the children, the adolescents what is right and what is wrong; the youth about communal disharmony when teaching in the college? One thing is sure that it is a willful act, done consciously. But the question whether the conscience is formed and right with God is another question. I don’t presume nor assume but truly, sure that we do decide on what we will do and will not do.
The youth or the adolescents need to know the history ten years back and weigh the situations. Be it economy, harmony, oil essentials and other rights and duties which are enshrined in the Preamble and Constitution of India, precisely the amendments done at the Centre and State level. They are adults and know to choose and decide.
For a robber when he wants to rob, he decides, plans and then tries to execute his plan. We have even day light robberies. For, there are times things are done looking into one’s own benefit and not the good of the society, not the good of the needy brethren.
It is sad to say that the Indian National Congress has lost its credentials. Today the party has inducted the same persons hurting the sentiments of the block or constituency party workers. The statement: “workers are not happy with the BJP as the party has adopted the strategy of sidelining grassroots level workers”, from the said Minister belonging to that party and resigning is a game or tactics whatever you call it. While this statement is given a counter reply by the BJP party stating, “the move to leave the party was denial of ticket to another member in the same family” cannot be denied. Or is it also a game plan to win on Congress ticket and then jump and hop to other party?
This same minister has made so many statements with regard to the taxi woes in front of ten thousand taxi drivers but till date he has not adhered to what he said. As one of the taxi driver exclaimed: who can believe him, his empty promises?
Some years back the open area at Margao, Colva circle, and the empty space beside the Mapusa bus stand was cordoned for a show…The Circus. Amidst the pandemic Goa too is having a glimpse of a different type of circus in the political arena. It’s five years the people of Goa had given a mandate and given the numbers to the Congress to form the government. By the end of the term the number was brought to the single digit by the unfaithful crooks. Then we had the disqualification of the elected representative with adjournments and never a result to that extent that today, it is become a mockery of the judiciary and the political system that doesn’t have any laws, who themselves make laws and amendments according to their whims and fancies.
The Goa desk in-charge P Chidambaram stated that credibility, integrity, loyalty, would be the pre-requisites for a congress ticket is questionable if the party allots ticket to the dissident MLA.
It was said by the State unit of the Congress that it wants “to put an end to the virus of defection once and for all in Goa and will never let the defectors re-enter Congress”. Actions are louder than words.
