Arvind Lolienkar asked to report to Personnel Dept; Vinesh Arlenkar appointed Fisheries Director
PANJIM: Mired in a multi-crore mining scam, Director of Printing & Stationery, Arvind Lolienkar, has been shunted from the post in an administrative reshuffle on Monday. The move comes after the State government had asked him to resign or wait to be dismissed as the ongoing mining case investigation has clinching evidence against him.
The government has posted Deputy Controller of Civil Defense Damodar Shanke in place of Lolienkar while the latter has been asked to report to the Personnel Department until further orders.
Lolienkar, was arrested in May 2014 for his alleged involvement in the scam, and was recently posted as Director of Printing and Stationery. In April 2012, he was suspended for abetting illegal mining in the State and was re-instated over 20 months later. Sources in the government told Herald that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has gathered enough evidence against the officer and as such, he was asked to resign or wait to be dismissed.
