BICHOLIM: Acute water shortage in Bicholim since last six months compelled the Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) to meet the PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar at his Panjim office on Tuesday.

It may be recalled that almost all the parts of Bicholim taluka are facing acute water shortage since last six months. Taking the cognizance of this, a delegation of BMC led by Chairperson Rajaram Gaonkar and other councilorsmet the minister and apprised him about the situation.

Dhavalikar told the delegation that there was ample water stored in Padocem water plant which supplies water to Bicholim taluka. However, frequent power cuts have subsequently affected pumping out of water consequently resulting into water shortage.
