PANJIM: Demanding a probe through a federal agency into the death of social activist Bismarque Dias, his family members have now alleged that Crime Branch did not furnish copies of the forensic and diatom test.

Mario Dias, speaking to the media, said that Crime Branch wants to close the murder case without investigating it properly. “Even after two years we haven’t received the copies we had asked for. Where is the report of the forensic and diatom test if this is the base of closure of case? Why are they hiding it from us?” he asked.

He said that a panel of doctors on April 10 after examining the body in the GMC morgue concluded that the body is unfit for further autopsy. However, doctors said that a radiology examination is feasible, Mario said.

“Who is responsible for the damage to the body? Why have we kept the body? It is in order to get justice for my brother,” he further.

Mario alleged that the death was due to strangulation. He said he had seen the body when it was floating in the water. “It was floating, one hand was on the chest and the legs were crossed. How can a person drowning be in this position?” he questioned.

“I have hope in the High Court. We will fight till we get justice. We want the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over this case and investigate the murder, Mario said.

He demanded that a lie detector test be conducted on the key witnesses to find out the truth.

Crime Branch rubbished the claim made by Mario and stated that all the tests required for the investigation were conducted and they are in receipt of all the copies.
