Allotted crucial portfolios; Nila Mohanan will continue as North Collector till another officer is posted; Tariq Thomas appointed as Collector South
PANJIM: In a major reshuffle, the State government on Tuesday transferred both district collectors and appointed them as Secretaries allotting them crucial portfolios like Home, Education, Power and Revenue.
North Goa Collector Nila Mohanan has been transferred as Secretary Education, Power, Revenue, Labour and Employment and Non Conventional Energy. She had joined the Goa administration in 2014 and has held the post of North Collector since then. Sources reveal that she will continue to hold additional charge as Collector till a new person is appointed.
Anjali Sehrawat of the 2013 batch, took charge of South Goa Collector in 2017, is now the Special Secretary Home. She has been replaced by newly posted officer Dr Tariq Thomas. He had reported to the State administration in May, this year.
With the transfer of the Collectors, there has been also re-allocation of departments amongst the Secretaries and Special Secretaries with immediate effect. The order in this regard was issued by Under Secretary (Personnel II) Shashank Thakur.
Daulat Hawaldar, the only Goa Civil Service Officer, has been given additional charge as Secretary Town and Country Planning and Agriculture, apart from his existing departments like Finance, Mines, Fisheries, Art and Culture. He has, however, been relieved as Secretary Environment, Education and Science and Technology.
Newly posted Sanjay Gihar of the 2008 batch has been appointed as Secretary for Environment, Panchayat, Housing, Rural Development Agency, Animal Husbandry, Science and Technology. He will also hold charge of Water Resources with effect from July 9, after PS Reddy is relieved from the service. Reddy has been transferred and will be relieved on July 9.
Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma will hold charge of departments of Vigilance, Home, Personnel, ARD, Forest and Law and Judiciary, whereas P Krishnamurthy will be Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Pr Resident Commissioner New Dehli.
Isha Khosla continues to be Special Secretary Budget, Mines and Personnel and Officer on Special Duty to Infrastructure Projects in the Chief Minister’s Office.
Secretary Co-operation W V Ramanmurthy has retained Social Welfare, Civil Aviation, Protocol, NRI Affaris, General Administration, while Sudhir Mahajan continues to be Secretary Urban Development along with Industries and Information and Publicity.
Rupesh Kumar Thakur will continue to serve as Secretary to the Governor along with holding departments like Museum, Archives and Archaeology and Civil Supplies. Ameya Abhayankar has also retained his post as Secretary Goa Public Service Commission, Information and Technology and Chief Executive Officer Entertainment Society of Goa.
Govind Jaiswal will hold charge of Ports, River Navigation, Factories and Boilers and is Secretary Vigilance, while J Ashok Kumar, who joined the service earlier this year, is Secretary to Chief Minister and Secretary Health, Sports and Youth Affairs, Women and Child Development and is the nodal officer for Open Defecation Free and Swatch Bharat Mission. All are IAS officers.
