PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar continues to undergo treatment for mild pancreatitis, on the second day of his admission at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. The Chief Minister’s Office has confirmed that he is doing well and is under medical observation.

“It is a case of mild pancreatitis. CM is well and under observation. Likely to be discharged in a day or two,” the CMO updated on Friday.

Parrikar was rushed to Mumbai on Thursday, a day after he complained of food poisoning and after taking initial treatment at Goa Medical College.

Sources at the CMO said he had recovered after the treatment at GMC but on Thursday early morning, he felt the stomach pain again after which his family decided to shift him to Mumbai hospital for proper treatment. “He is recovering now,” the source had said adding that CM’s son and his personal security officer are accompanying him.

The CMO stated that Parrikar will return on Sunday, on the eve of the Budget session. However, it is unlikely that CM will attend the first day’s session which will have the Governor’s address.

The Congress Legislature wing has wished Parrikar good health. “We wish him good health, speedy recovery. He is our good colleague and we want to see him in action soon,” senior MLA Pratapsingh Rane told the media after the CLP meeting on Friday.
